The mission of the public library is to serve the public and to ensure to all the people the freedom to read and to freely choose from all sources of information and knowledge.
The Stacyville Public Library has the responsibility to work in constructive ways with other types of library and information sources; to provide patrons with the best possible access to information and resource sharing in local community agencies, as well as agencies of the county, region and state.
While public libraries perform many functions, they primarily enrich our personal lives, encourage self-education and promote enlightened citizenship.
