The Vernon Parish Library Board met in regular session, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 3:30 p.m.

Members present were Mrs. Westerchil, Mrs. Bealer, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. McKee and Mrs. Skinner. Absent was Mr. Davis.

Mrs. Westerchil called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Motion by Mrs. McKee, seconded by Mrs. Jones. Carried.

The Financial, Statistical and Director’s report were presented.

Under new business, Mr. Coy presented a revised 2018 budget. Motion was made by Mrs. Bealer, seconded by Mrs. Skinner to approved the revised 2018 budget as presented. Carried.

The Chiller is 24 years old and past its life expectancy. It is requiring constant costly repairs, and our repair people have said it may not make it to summer. Mrs. Bealer made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Skinner, to replace the Chiller.  Carried.

Mrs. Jones made the motion, seconded by Mrs. Skinner to add $160,000 to the 2019 budget under Building Maintenance and Repair to cover the cost of replacing the Chiller.  Carried.

The Board discussed a recommendation of a new Library Board Member to replace the position of Mrs. Whitlock. The unanimous decision of Mr. Randy Martin.

There being no other business, meeting was adjourned.
