Patron FAQ

Getting a library card:
Any resident of Tennessee can apply for a library card. Photo identification and proof of current mailing address are required for applicants age 18 and over. Applicants under the age of 18 require a parent’s or guardian’s signature on their application. New library cards are issued free of charge.

Using your library card:
A library card must be presented at the time of checkout.  You may check out up to ten items on each library card that is in good standing. Within the ten (10) item limit, up to three (3) DVDs may be checked out, per family.
Books, audiobooks, and DVDs check out for two weeks. Books and audiobooks can be renewed once.  DVDs cannot be renewed.
Items cannot be renewed if they are on reserve for another patron.
You may place items on reserve online, over the phone, or in person.  All reserved items must be picked up within one week of notification.

Using your library card online:
You can manage your account, check due dates, renew items, reserve items, create lists, and save your searches online.  On the home page, click “My Account” and log in using your library card number. Your pin will be the last four digits of your primary phone number on file.  You can also create your own EZ login.

Notifications:
It is your responsibility to return or renew items before the due date.
If you provide a valid email address you can receive a courtesy notice 3 days before the items are due.  The library uses the email address for notifications only.

Visitors may obtain a guest pass at the Circulation Desk.
