Friday Storytimes

...for ages 2-5 with a caregiver.

September 6th through November 22nd, 10-10:30ish

NO registration required for fun stories, songs, and activities with Mrs. Erinn & friends :)

Teddy Bear Picnic

...for ages 2-4 with a caregiver.

September 9th, 10-11:00 a.m.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED for outdoor stories, songs, an activity (or two!), & of course a picnic! 

Bring a bag lunch & a favorite Teddy Bear to enjoy the morning in the library yard with us!

Spooky Family Evenings

October 30th & 31st, 6-7:30 p.m.

Join us for seasonal stories & crafts as well as dim lights in the Children's Area for flashlight tag.

This is a self directed event- NO registration required.

Session 1: Wednesdays in November, 10-10:30ish (attendance at all 4 preferred)

Smokey the Bear Reading Challenge

Celebrate Smokey’s 80th Birthday by joining the FCPL Smokey the Bear Reading Challenge.

We hope to engage youth in reading about wildfire prevention, forests, and natural resource careers while they explore their local environment.

Read books, take action, and have fun!  And remember…only you can prevent wildfires.  (& receive cool prizes all while helping Smokey!)

Who: Children, ages 4 to 10, but all ages are welcome!

When: September 23rd through November 27th 2024

How to Sign Up:  Ask the FCPL staff for a challenge log & Smokey’s Suggested Reading List  

Goal:  Have fun reading books about wildfires and the environment & take action!

Did you know that Fluvanna County Public Library patrons are able to easily request & pick up a pre-selected books for their children by completing this simple online form below? This is a great way to encourage reading at home & on the go!

A Book Bundle consists of 3-10 books specifically geared towards your child's reading level and likes.  These bundles will keep your child engaged, learning, and eager to return to the library for more reading adventures.

Please allow up to 24 hours for requests to be bundled Monday-Thursday. Request made on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday may not be bundled until the beginning of the following week.  You will receive a call when your order is ready for pick up.
