Pamela Pipkin began employment at Rusk County Library as a part-time cataloger and currently serves full time as Library Director.
Pam earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and a Master of Library Science at University of North Texas in Denton. While attending TCU, she held a student assistant position in the Catalog Department of the library. Her first librarian position was in the Acquisitions Department of the Library at University of Oklahoma in Norman. While living in Georgia, she cataloged the audiovisual collection at Statesboro Regional Library. After returning to Texas she served six years as Children's LIbrarian at Longview Public Library.
Pam is a member of the Texas Library Association, the American Library Association, the Tejas Storytelling Association, East Texas Storytellers, and the Optimist Club in Henderson.
Her interests include reading, writing, storytelling, music, and travel. Pam's favorite Dewey number is 398.2 since she is a storyteller and enjoys folk tales and fables.
