Peñitas Public Library, in partnership with Cloud Library by Bibliotheca is pleased to announce the launch of Cloud Library, an online service that allows patrons to check out eAudiobooks and eBooks, including best-sellers, Recorded Books exclusives, classics, selections for children and young adults, and much more.

Patrons have free access to eAudio and eBooks at home, in the library, or on the go. Many titles are multi-access, so multiple users can check out a given title at the same time, eliminating holds.

Cloud Library is compatible with all popular listening devices, and mobile apps are available for the iPhone®, Android™, and Kindle Fire.
Cloud Library features an easy-to-use interface with streamlined navigation, fast downloads, and automatic software updates. 

LEARNING EXPRESS

Whatever your goal, Learning Express Library's resources will help you succeed. Each of our Learning Centers offers the practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, eBooks, and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life. Looking to land a job? You'll find an entire Learning Center dedicated to helping you get the one that's right for you. There are Learning Centers for Elementary School, Middle School, High School, College Preparation, College Students, GED Preparation, Job Search & Workplace Skills, Jobs & Careers, Skill Building for Adults, U.S. Citizenship, and Recursos para Hispanohablantes.

Driving-Tests.org

Peñitas Public Library is announcing a partnership with Driving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free DMV practice tests to library patrons, starting August 1, 2015. The new service includes free tests, written specifically based on the state DMV materials, and is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask sections of the screen for greater visibility on driving practice tests. 

HotSpot

Peñitas is now Implementing a Mobile Hotspot Lending Program at your library offers up a world of possibilities for you.
Enabling patrons to take the Internet home offers a number of unique benefits such as:

Bridging the Digital Divide
 Lessening the homework gap for children
 Providing internet options to rural areas with poor or no coverage
 Offering connectivity to financially disadvantaged patrons
 Helping individuals with employment opportunities
 Accessing health information, especially for seniors
 Offering connectivity at community wide events
 Allowing individuals living with disabilities the option to access the Internet from the comfort of home

By loaning out the Internet, just like a book, your Library can provide its patrons with 24/7 access to Internet. In an increasingly interconnected world, the Internet is vital in day to day life.
Offering mobile hotspot devices to our patrons will help meet your information needs in new and exciting ways.
