School of Law and Governance Library
The Law Library is a specialized library within the USC Library System dedicated to supporting the study, practice, and understanding of law. It serves as a comprehensive repository of legal resources, including statutes, case law, legal commentaries, journals, and other essential reference materials, catering to the academic and research needs of law students and faculty.
The library offers a seating capacity of over 150 and features six discussion rooms (each accommodating six individuals), where students can openly engage in discussions, analyze cases, conduct debates, and collaborate on academic projects. In addition, the library includes multiple lounge areas where students can take breaks, network with peers, and foster a sense of community within the law school.
By providing a conducive environment and access to extensive legal resources, the Law Library plays a critical role in fostering academic excellence and supporting the scholarly and practical pursuits of its users.
Programs and Services
- Resource Access
- Provides access to a comprehensive collection of print and digital materials, including statutes, case law, legal journals, textbooks, and specialized legal databases.
- Research and reference Support
- Offers assistance to students and faculty in conducting effective legal research, understanding complex legal principles, and navigating available resources.
- Library orientations and instructions
- Conducts library orientations and instructions on using legal research tools, proper citation methods, and effective database navigation.
- Curriculum Support
- Curates and maintains a collection of resources specifically tailored to support the institution’s law curriculum and research priorities.
- Knowledge Preservation
- Archives historical and contemporary legal literature, ensuring its availability for future academic, legal, and historical research.
- Discussion Room Access
- Provides six discussion rooms (seating six people each) where students can collaborate on lessons, case studies, debates, and other academic pursuits.
- Printing Services
- Provides convenient on-site printing services to assist students and faculty with printing research materials, case documents, and other academic resources.
- Learning Spaces
- The library offers access to six (6) discussion rooms where students can openly engage in discussions, analyze cases, conduct debates, and collaborate on academic projects. As well as the Perk Room where it doubles as a reading area and as an emergency classroom for law professors to use in their classes.

- Special Extended Service Hours:
- Monday - Saturday: 8:00 AM - 11:00 PM
- This is only applies during Major Examinations and Special Reviews(Mock Bar Exams)
