Take on the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge with the help of Atchison County Library! 

The Atchison County Library is excited to launch the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program! This fun and rewarding early literacy initiative encourages families to read together and helps prepare children for school success—one book at a time.

Children from birth through age five can join the program and track the books they read (yes, repeats count!). We’ll provide reading logs, activity materials, and special incentives along the way to celebrate each milestone. Families who complete all 1,000 books will earn a certificate and a final prize to mark this wonderful accomplishment.

Sign up at your local branch, pick up your starter materials, and begin your journey today. It’s never too early to instill a love of reading!
