The Greenwood County Library invites you to join its volunteer program.
A variety of opportunities are available, including:
- Welcome Desk aides
- Literacy and ESL tutors
- Tour guides
- Computer tutors
- Genealogy/Local History Room aides
- Special Event aides
- Book processing aides
- Books2Go Bookstore
- Sorting items for the Friends' book sale
- Children's Room and Teen Center aides
The Library offers training and convenient scheduling. Volunteers will have a choice of time commitments, including on-going, short-term, and long-term.
We invite you to invest yourself -- your time and your talents -- in the Library's services and programs. Applications are available at the Greenwood County Library and its branch libraries, the Ninety Six Branch Library and the Ware Shoals Community Library; or, you may download an application from the link below.
If you want to volunteer for the ESL/Literacy program you need to fill out the ESL/Literacy Volunteer Application on the Adult Literacy/ESL page after the GCL Volunteer Application.

Are you looking for community service opportunities for school or college applications? Become a Teen Summer Volunteer at the Library! Teen Volunteers will be under the supervision of the Young Adult Services Coordinator and will be able to particpate in a variety of service activities in the Teen Center, Children's Room, and other areas of the Library. |

How to apply: Fill out and submit a TEEN VOLUNTEER APPLICATION and a PARENTAL CONSENT FORM at the Circulation Desk. The Volunteer Coordinator will submit your application to the Young Adult Services Coordinator who will contact you to set up an appointment. |
