The Vernon Parish Library Board met in regular session, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 3:30 p.m.

Members present were Mrs. McKee, Mrs. Whitlock, Mrs. Westerchil, Mrs. Skinner and Mrs. Jones. Absent were Mr. Davis and Mrs. Bealer.

Mrs. Skinner led in opening prayer.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented.

Mr. Coy presented the statistical and financial reports as well as the Director’s report.

Mrs. McKee made the motion, seconded by Mrs. Skinner to recommend to the Police Jury the re-appointment of Mrs. Verna Jones and Mrs. Sandra Whitlock to the Board.  Carried.

The Boiler for the HVAC system is broken and beyond repair. Mrs. Jones made the motion, seconded by Mrs. McKee to approve replacement of the boiler at a cost of $76,303.00 to be taken out of reserve funds. Carried.

It was decided to call a special meeting to approve the 2019 budget Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 3:30 p.m.

There being no other business, meeting was adjourned.
