The Friends of PML are volunteers who support Pioneer Memorial Library. They raise funds and advocate for the library, contributing to the success of PML's programs and services!

Volunteer & Join
The Friends are always looking for volunteers. You can help sort books, work at the monthly and yearly sales, or help with other year-round fundraising projects.
Yearly volunteer opportunities include:
- Our monthly sidewalk book sales, which happen on the 1st Saturday of most months
- Our largest annual used book sale in September
- Monthly book sorting
- Helping staff with historic document scanning
- Children's summer reading program every year

Used Book Donations
The sales managed by the Friends are possible through donations from the community.
Pioneer Memorial Library welcomes donations that are clean, dry, and mold-free. They are checked by a staff member, who determines if the donations can be added to the collection. If not, they are passed to the Friends, who add them to their used book store or for one of their book sales.
Donation Guidelines:
- You can bring your donations to Pioneer Memorial Library. You can bring them in and take them to the Conference Room/Used Book Store, where they can be left on the long table. If you need assistance bringing in your donations, please ask a staff member.
- Donations are accepted any time the library is open.
- Bring your materials in boxes or bags that can be left at the library.
- Inspect your donations! If you wouldn't give it to a friend, please don't give it to the library.
We gladly accept:
- Hardcover and paperback books in good condition
- DVDs and audiobooks in their original cases
We do NOT accept:
- CDs, VHS, cassettes
- Textbooks
- Magazines
- Encyclopedias
- Medical books
- Reader's Digest condensed books
- Outdated materials
- Books with missing covers or pages
- Items that are unhealthy to handle, dirty, moldy, smelly, chewed, wet, or otherwise damaged
Donate Money
Funds raised by the Friends directly support the services of Pioneer Memorial Library.
If you would like to donate to the Friends, you can do so by cash or check. You can drop off your monetized donation at the library in the donation book by the south door.

When donating by check, please make it out to "Friends of Pioneer Memorial Library."
The Friends also accepts memorial donations. When the library receives a request to memorialize a deceased donor, the Friends will accept it and acquire the materials requested. The deceased donor will also be memorialized with a plaque in the material(s).
