Thursday, September 5: 12:00-1:00PM Join us in the American Veterans Auditorium as we discuss one of Reese Witherspoon's Book Club picks, The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes. The novel follows five extraordinary women and their journey through the mountains of Kentucky and beyond. The women deliver library books to people in the mountains of Kentucky during the Great Depression, a real-life program launched by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt.

This historical novel follows the lives of two Black women in the 1950s, Ruby Pearsall and Eleanor Quarles, as they navigate racism, misogyny and unplanned pregnancies.

American Veterans Auditorium Registration Required To celebrate the theatrical release of the film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, join us for a fun, interactive film showing of the original 1988 Beetlejuice film (rated PG). Drinks, popcorn and candy will be provided at this showing. Adults and those aged 10 and over are welcome to attend. If under 13 years old, parents or guardians must give permission for their children to attend and accompany them to the program as well. This historical novel follows two Black brothers, Prentiss and Landry, freed by the Emancipation Proclamation, as they try to make money for their trek north to reunite with their mother.
