About Charlestown-Clark County Public Library

Thank you for your interest in the Charlestown-Clark County Public Library.

Our five libraries and bookmobile have been serving Clark County since 1977 and is governed by a Board of Directors who are appointed by locally elected officials.

We strive to fulfill the needs of the community by provided free access to everyone. We offer a wide range of services such as loaning books, magazines, audio books & movies, downloadable media, faxing, copying, scanning, free computer access, free wifi, public meeting rooms, genealogy research, reference assistance, and much more.

Policies

The policies set forth here are governed by the Charlestown-Clark County Public Library Board of Directors. These policies are reviewed and updated regularly.

User Policy
library card eligibility, application procedures, and general use of the library

Interlibrary Loan Policy
The purpose of interlibrary loan is to obtain materials not available in Charlestown-Clark County Public Library system and to provide material from the collections of other libraries.

Computer Use Policy
The library offers free access to computers at each location. This is the user policy.

Unattended Children Policy
This policy refers to minors using the Charlestown-Clark County Library System.

Meeting Room Policy
The Charlestown-Clark County Libraries (Borden, Henryville, Charlestown, New Washington, and Sellersburg) provides meeting room spaces as a community service to library cardholders in good standing.

Background Check Policy
CCCPL has adopted a background check policy for new hires and volunteers.

Mobile Hotspot Policy
CCCPL has a limited number of mobile hotspots that can be checked out.

Collection Development Policy
The Charlestown-Clark County Public Library’s collection development policy serves to guide staff in its efforts to meet community needs and interests and to acquaint the public with the principles by which the Library selects and maintains its collection.
