The Genealogy & History Department is here to help people learn about the rich history of Clark County, Indiana.

The majority of genealogy and history materials are kept at the Charlestown Library branch. The four library branches house materials mostly pertaining to their area.

the powder hornThe Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, which was located on Highway 62 in Charlestown, Indiana, is one of the most asked about topics.

The library has a large collection of maps, documents, newsletters, photographs, reports, histories, new clippings and objects from INAAP. The items date back to its beginning in 1940 and continue until its end in 2016. The collection is housed at Charlestown Library.
