A Universe of Stories - Summer Reading Club 2019

Summer Reading Club is for everyone: preschoolers - adults. Stop by the library to pick up your reading sheet.

Summer Reading Club begin June 1 and ends August 1. 

**Note: library patrons 21 years and under are elegible for a Cultrual Pass when they sign up for Summer Reading Club


Summer Preschool Programs

These programs will run June 3 - 27. Registration is required.

Storyhour

Kids 3 - 5 years old not yet in kindergarten can come listen to stories, sing songs, and do a craft with other kids.

New Washington Library - Mondays at 1-2 pm
Sellersburg Library - Tuesdays at 10-11 am
Henryville Library - Tuesdays at 1-2 pm
Charlestown Library - Wednesdays at 10-11 am
Borden Library - Thursdays at 1-2 pm

Tot-time

Kids 17 months to 2 years old can come listen to stories, sing songs and do a craft with other kids.

Book Babies

Infants to 16 month old babies can come sing songs and interact with other babies during this program.

Summer Outer Space Art Workshops for K-5th graders

Kids who have just completed K-5th grades can come learning about the wonder of space at these 4 summer art programs. Programs run June 3 - June 28. All programs are free. Registration is required.

◘ Week One (June 3-7): Learn about the Magic of Space with Magician Perry Warren
◘ Week Two (June 10-14): Learn about Constellation Star Myths with Kentucky Shakespeare Company
◘ Week Three (June 17-21): Learn about the Extreme Coldness of Space with Wonderlab Science Museum
◘ Week Four (June 24-28): Be A Star! Acting Workshops with Kentucky Shakespeare Company

Birds of Prey

Is your family interested in raptors? Then join us and the naturalists from the Dwight R. Chamberlain Raptor Center as bring some of their most interesting birds for a visit.

What is Space?

Have you always wanted to learn more about our solar system? Then join us at the library as we welcome an official NASA Ambassador, Mr. Joey Thomas, as he gives kids in grades K-5th grade an overview of our planets, moon and stars as well as a brief history of space exploration.

Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Celebration

The entire family can celebrate the first moon landing! We will have fun activities, crafts, snacks, and more all about this historic event.
