Our Library of Things provides a variety of useful items that are not thought of as traditional things a library has to offer. These items can be borrowed just the same as our books, audiobooks, magazines, and movies (except the seed library...you get to grow the seeds). |

Over 200 puzzles to choose from. There are puzzles for all ages with 35-1000 pieces. The collection is kept at New Washington Library with a few kept at Charlestown Library. They can be placed on hold and picked up at any branch. 3 week checkout period. There are about 35 different board games and card games for checkout. There are games for all ages. Electricity usage monitor can help you lower energy costs and find out what appliances are actually worth keeping plugged in. Simply connect these appliances to the Kill-A-Watt EZ and it will assess how efficient they really are. Seed Library Starting in the spring and running through the fall, a variety of flower, fruit and vegetable seeds are available for free at Charlestown Library. A variety of seedlings are provided at various times. |
Special Olympics Young Athletes Kit
Includes: 2 keyring activity book (English & Spanish), 1 information sheet, 1 jump rope, 2 rubber discs, 3 books, 3 balls, 3 bean bags, 4 scarves, 1 backback The library has 5 kits. Each library branch has a kit. These items can be placed on hold and picked up at any branch. 3 week checkout. Special Olympics Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities, ages 2 to 7 years old. Through Young Athletes activities, children grow and develop in valuable motor skills, like walking and running, while also enhancing social and cognitive skills through interaction with their peers.
Donna's Memory Kits Memory kits are for people with Dementia, Alzheimer's, memory loss, or cognitive impairment but can be enjoyed by a variety of ages. They are intended to stimulate conversation or reminiscence with a person with cognitive issues. The kits include a collection of resources and items that allow users an opportunity to engage in conversation about their life experiences. The library has 24 hotspots. Each library may have them available. They can be placed on hold for pick up at any branch. Must be 18+ to rent.Unlimited internet access for 30 days. Rents for $30 for 30 days. No extensions. May be rented again if no one is waiting. If not returned on or before due date, fines will be charged. WiFi hotspots are internet access points that allow you to connect to a WiFi network using your computer, smartphone or another device while away from your home or office network. Or if you don't have a network. |
