The Putnam County Library System is reopening September 14, 2020 with modified hours and limited services. Click here or read below for more info.

Library Service Update:

The Putnam County Library System reopened on September 14, 2020 with limited services and modified hours!

Operating hours for all five libraries in Putnam County:

Mondays through Fridays: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

If you are sick, you are asked to stay home and not visit the library. Face masks/cloth coverings are strongly encouraged but not required. Please practice proper social distancing by remaining six feet apart from others at all times. You are also encouraged to wash your hands frequently with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds). Hand sanitizer dispensers are also located in the library. Together, we can slow the spread of COVID-19.

Please note: Hours are subject to change at any time or in the event of an emergency.

Computer Reservation

Cybrarian logo

We have a new computer reservation software called CYBRARIAN® coming to all five libraries in Putnam County. This eliminates the need for manual signup sheets and the reservation kiosk we used to have set up at the Headquarters Library. As long as a computer is available, users will be able to walk up to it and sign in with their library card number (or a guest pass).
Starting Monday, September 14: Library patrons will be able to reserve one-hour computer sessions online (or by phone).

Visit https://cybrarian2.com/putnam to try it out!

Please note: computers will shut down automatically 15 minutes prior to closing time. We'll be closing at 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, so computers will shut down at 5:45 p.m. On Saturdays, we'll be open till 1:00 p.m. So, computers will shut down at 12:45 p.m. Please plan your session accordingly and save your work. Once a computer session ends, computers reset and all files downloaded or created during your computer session are wiped so please bring a USB drive or attach and email any files that you may need to yourself. We will not be able to recover these files once your session ends. They are permanently deleted.

Other Modified Services

Magazines, newspapers, and microfilm will not be available at this time as we don’t have a way to sanitize them between uses.

Patrons will be free to browse the shelves and check out books inside. However, we are asking that all returns be deposited in the metal book returns outside. Staff will not be able to accept returns at the desk at this time. All returned library materials are quarantined for at least 72 hours before they are checked in.

Please note: We are not accepting donations at this time. Please only use the book returns for library materials.
