HOW CAN I ACCESS THE USC LIBRARY'S E-RESOURCES REMOTELY (OFF-CAMPUS)?

Through EZproxy, a web tool that helps provide users with remote access to web-based licensed content subscribed by the library.  It is a middleware that authenticates library users against local authentication systems and provides remote access based on user’s authorization.

Do I need to register for an Ezproxy account?

Registration to Exproxy is not necessary for now. The USC Library System is using a common username and password during this transition period brought about by Covid 19.

How can I access Ezproxy?

1. Go to https://ezproxy.usc.edu.ph Note: Always place the https:// at the beginning of the URL.

2. Log in Username: usclib20 and Password: usclib20.

3. When you encounter “Your connection is not private” override browser warning using Google Chrome, click the “Advanced” button.

4. Then, click the “proceed to…” button.

5. When you encounter “Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead” override browser warning using Mozilla Firefox, click the “Advanced” button.

6. Next, click the “Accept the Risk and Continue” button

HOW DO I RETURN BOOKS DURING GCQ AND MGCQ?

To all Students, Faculty, Employees and Researchers: You may return all borrowed books through Book Drop Service.

How?

1. Put all books together in a paper or plastic bag.
2. Write on the bag the name of borrower, ID # and the email address.
3. Drop the books at the entrance of Bonk Library or Law Library in Downtown Campus, entrance of Education Library at South Campus and at the JB-LRC entrance guard at Talamban Campus.
4. Wait for the acknowledgement receipt through email.

CAN I BORROW LIBRARY RESOURCES DURING GCQ AND MGCQ?

Yes you may through the library’s Curbside Service. The library system offers a Curbside Pick up service. This service allows you to borrow and pick up books at the designated station in your respective campus libraries.

How does it Works?

  1. Search for the reference using the WebOPAC. www.library.usc.edu.ph:8080
  2. Request the titles that you need by sending an email to your Librarian or fill up the request form: https://forms.gle/PRDcAKiyFHNVLjvS6
  3. Wait for the email/SMS notification from the Librarian for the requested titles which are available for pick-up.
  4. Respond to the email notification or contact your Librarian once you’re ready to collect/pick-up the references for them to place these at the designated area.
  5. Pick-up time and day is within office hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday to Friday. The designated pick-up place will be at the entrance of the libraries (Bonk, Education and Law) and the LRC guard station.

What is the pick up process?

  1. Drive safely to the respective campus in the identified library to pick up the references.
  2. Inform the librarian of your scheduled day and time to pick up the references or call the librarian to be notified of your arrival in picking up the references.
  3. Walk to the library entrance were your requested references re placed on the designated table ready for pick up.
  4. Sign the borrower’s form (list of references and due date) prepared by the librarian.
  5. Remember to isolate the package for 72 hours or 3 days before opening.

IS THE LIBRARY OPEN TO FACULTY AND STUDENTS WHO WHICH TO ACCESS ITS COLLECTION AND SERVICES?

Please be guided of the IAFT Protocols regarding Libraries

  • ECQ and MECQ library is closed, services or virtual programs are online.
  • GCQ library is closed, virtual programs continues online at the same time on-site services such as book drop and curbside are available
  • MGCQ library is open with limitation in terms of the number of users who can enter the library.
  • Health protocol such as Social distancing and wearing of face masks/face shield should be followed at all time.
  • Library stack area is closed during this time, but stack service will be available.
  • Self-check machine will be use in terms of borrowing a book(s) for home use.
