Potato Derby for Tweens & Teens
On event day, bring your potato car to race against other potato cars. Prizes awarded for grand champion racer and for best designed potato car. Registration is required.

Family Storyhour is for kids under 5 years old with a caregiver. We
Step back in time and read books about history. This book club will cover all kinds of historical events.
Do you love Sci-Fi? Join us as we read and discuss a sci-fi book every month.
Build, create, and challenge your imagination! We'll explore creative builds, try new challenges, and share our creations. No building experience needed - just bring your imagination.
Tweens/Teens in grades 5-8 can join us for a night of fun racing cars made out of potatoes. Participants can stop by the library and pick up supplies to make your potato derby car and the official rules for making your car.
PreK-5th grade kids and a caregiver can take their chances with a night of Bingo at the library. There will be prizes and snacks will be provided. Test your luck this August!
Do you love jigsaw puzzles? Do have puzzles you've finished and don't know what to do with? Bring your gently used puzzles to our puzzle swap! Bring up to 6 puzzles you would like to trade. Puzzles must, be no more than 1,000 pieces, no missing pieces, be in it's manufacture's box and in overall good condition. For priority entry puzzles may be dropped off at New Washington library during business hours Sept. 14 - Sept. 18.

Whether you’re a superstar performer or just want to have fun with friends, there’s a place for you. Join us for music, creativity, and good vibes at the library. Grab a friend, pick your song, and get ready to shine.
PreK-5th graders and a caregiver can take a fun class together to learn about a cool musical instrument - the handbells. The instructor will give a simple lesson to learn to play a song by the end of class. Space is limited. Registration required.
PreK-5th graders and a caregiver can join us to make their very own night light. Kids can chose between a dinosaur or a fairy night light.
Watch a spooky science show for all ages. professor Steve will teach us the science of Halloween - all wrapped around the world of skeletons, laboratories and monster movies.
PreK-5th graders with a caregiver can have some Christmas fun at the library. Join us as we invite an artist from Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana to show us how to make some festive Christmas ornaments.
PreK-5th graders and a caregiver can enjoy the winter season by making a polar bear, snow fox and snowy owl craft at the library.
