The Genealogy & History Department is here to help people learn about the rich history of Clark County, Indiana. The majority of genealogy and history materials are kept at the Charlestown Library branch. The other four library branches house materials mostly pertaining to their area.

The library has a large collection of maps, documents, newsletters, photographs, reports, histories, new clippings and objects from INAAP. Online Genealogy Resources In Indiana: Death and birth records are kept at the county health departments.
